I find dating sites absolutely useless. The women on them have to high expectations. I have found that women like men if they are good looking, have a big career, lots of money, good socialiser like the leader of the pack, a bit criminal or a combination of these things. Some sites put on fake profiles or get fake women to email you. In order to read the message you have to pay their fees. Some allow scammer to put on profiles to get the number of women on the site up .You might get an email from a nice women because the dating site has used her profile to send a fake message to trick you into paying their fees. Adult sites are the worst for this but the big dating sites use all the tricks in the book to get your dollar.

Okcupid is free, and have spoken to a few ladies on there. Though many don't respond.

POF has the largest number of users and doesn't do this. I get some messages and responses on there, just not from anyone I'm interested in.

Possibly someone less jaded would like it.

I have tried POF and whenever I receive an email from them, there is no one in my area. I never get responses from anyone on this site.

OK cupid is the best bet in my opinion. It's free like pof, but unlike pof you get a bit more flexibility in what you say (or don't say).

I have a problem with pof, in that it asks you to tick boxes like 'how long was your longest relationship?' and several others, and there isn't an option for leave blank. Another box I don't like is 'do you have a car?' and, with me not (yet) a driver (got my test next month) saying 'no' puts me at a disadvantage at my age. At least with OK cupid you can write what you like, leave out boxes you don't like, and not have to tell people things you'd rather keep quiet about!

Way to generalize. Personally, I'd be more inclined to date someone who actually shared my interests and could relate to me. I doubt I'm the only one who feels this way.
