Are there some other people here that enjoy touching or pulling grass? If so, do you have an idea why you do such a strange thing?

I love Kikuyu grass http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kikuyu_grass

Except it makes me itches after laying on it for a while then I can't stand it. But it is always nice to lay on it touching it. One day I went to the middle of town and just wanted to lay on the grass in front of everybody. My then girlfriend was so embarrassed of me. Both my exes said I have an obsession with grass.

I pick it and pull the strands apart. I also take apart grass seeds. St. Augustine is my favorite.

Stalk, I am sorry that your ex was ashamed of you wanting to lay in the grass. That seems like an odd thing to be embarrassed about.

I would do that for hours when I was a kid. I tried to whistle with a grass blade between my thumbs, and would shoot cattail heads off by twisting the stalk.

Same reason for me.

I never thought of it as a strange thing to do.

Lying in the grass is nice. It feels nice and it is a good place for all kinds of activities.

Tall swamp grass is my favorite. Yank it out and then work what's pulled out like an accordion and or peel the blades into thin strings.

I don't like gardening. If grass and weed need to be removed, I'd rather hire someone to do that. But because I chose to live in a place that has no grass area around, I don't even have to worry about that.

I used to do that during lunch breaks in middle school. I do enjoy pulling grass. :)

It's not strange; it's repetitive, predictable, and calming.

I do. It feels nice, cool, smooth, has a suitable amount of resistance when pulling and pulling apart.

And they smell nice when you do.

It is nice. I usually end up doing it for a little while if I am sitting / lying on the grass. But I don't think it would keep me entertained for a longer period of time.
