I actually had a special interest on dogs as a child. I knew every single breed by heart.

And this is my dog Roxy :P

I just moved into an apartment of my very own for the first time, and one of the most exciting things about that was that I was finally getting to the point where I might be able to get myself a dog of my very own. Unfortunately, it's just not feasible right now, and I'm half going crazy drooling over every doggie I see, especially all the nice sturdy ones - pitt bulls, rottweilers, mastiffs...My poor friends are having to put up with a constant refrain about how much I want a doggie. I'm holding out hope for the possibility that I might be able to get a service dog next spring, but that's soooooo far away...

I also moved and am surrounded. I like small dogs though, as long as they're no yappers. I wish I could get a dog, but I can't (even if it's a service dog). Maybe someday!

Love dogs. When I was a kid my family acted as a foster home for shelter dogs, must have had at least 50 dogs through our house over many years. Shame I can't afford to take care of one now, I miss having them around :(.

I have spent a very large portion of my life wishing I were a dog. I tend to value them (and almost all other animals) more than people. And I usually socialize more with people's pets than the actual people.

I love my dog more than anything! He's a Golden Retriever and quite a character. My building as a lot of dogs too, and I know most of the dogs by name (even though I wouldn't be able to pick the owners out of police lineup!) I think dogs are easier to connect with than humans. I mentioned in another post that every time I come home, my Golden is estatic! I have never received a welcome like that from another human being, especially for something as benign as coming home!

My Golden never judges me. When he sense I'm upset, he will sleep on the bed with me. We go for long walks every day. We spend a lot of time together. Ever since he was a puppy, we did everything together: go for car rides, go to the beach, go for ice cream. We have a very strong bond.

I can relate to Draka: I always gravitate to pets at awkward gatherings. I will sit and play with the cat or dog so I don't have to talk to anyone. I prefer the company of the animal, to be honest.

Dogs are amazingly intuitive as well. I can remember one day that I was feeling particularily down about something and my Golden came up to me and put his paw on my knee. It was so touching. It was like he was saying "I'm here. Don't be sad."

I love my Golden boy!

Dogs are probably one of my favorite things in the world. My two labs live with my parents, and I miss them all the time, but my parents spoil them rotten, so I can't complain too much. I love dog sitting, and dog walking. I want to just go hang out at a dog park but I don't want to look weird and creepy being there without a dog ... Would that be strange?
