The question should be redone to include age and mobility.

I have my own apartment but it's in a supervised building with other mentally ill and/or homeless women. There's a common room and we all know each other and hang out in the common room and go for coffee together and sometimes the group goes on outings or has a barbecue or party or does activities in the common room together. So there's a real sense of community. I like it.

Montreal. Come on; just come here with nothing and you'll be considered homeless and will qualify for this place. There are empty rooms here. ;)

i'm legally banned [according to Canadian immigration rules] from even visiting. thousands of americans were banned during the last Olympics you had up there, for things as minor as speeding tickets.

DAMN! Why are you banned? What's THEIR excuse, anyway?

I got banned from the US for 6 months once, for getting nervous and saying I was going to get an under-the-table job in the US, because I was too embarrassed to say my then-boyfriend would be supporting me (I felt like a bum).

according to them, conviction of reckless driving, a charge whose equivalent in Canada is more serious than it is down here.
