I hate when people tell me something along the lines of "but you're smarter than me" when I tell them that I have so few friends and struggle socially.

What is worst? Not being perfect at math, or being a total social failure?

being a failure at math is much worse

At least if you suck at math, you can still make friends without being ridiculed and called a liar. I'm pretty sure that's better than not being able to make friends at all and being told that "you're only using your condition to make excuses".

I struggle with loneliness a lot! It sure doesn't help that my particular Autism type needs friends bad, but whenever I talk to "friends", they usually find a way to go elsewhere; and it leaves me feeling like "Well, I'm doing my best! Can't you tell that?"
I can also fairly easily overload socially, too, so there's yet another problem to be solved! :(
