I mean seriously.. Everyone is lonely.. Why do people go up to someone and say "You look lonely" EVERYONE IS lonely initially!! !! !! !

Anyone who isn't lies.

Or maybe it's because they developed such a good set of friends that whenever the chance comes along for a new friendship they shun them away or something.

Perhaps those who approach strangers with that comment are looking for someone to talk to.

NOT everyone is lonely.
Being alone and being lonely are two different things.

I was feeling incredibly lonely a few minutes ago when laying in my bed and looking through my phone. I put it down and went to my desk, put on some music and came on here. I think it's normal to feel lonely sometimes, when I'm in new situations or even the littlest things I appreciate, and don't take for granted.

I only feel lonely when I'm surrounded by strangers.

Maeko, no-one can answer your question

Loneliness and friendship are a set that both include each other
and cannot exist without excluding each other

NO.

He is not being 'deep'.

He is confused.

And so are you.

Between the two of you- the dialogue is doubly confused.

A) He confuses "being alone" with being "lonely".

B) He is annoyed by strangers approaching him, and bugging him about 'being lonely". And you're confused because you dont realize that he is being a bit sarcastic about these people ( 'so Im alone- BFD!'- is what he is saying).

We all start out "being alone", but not necessarily "lonely".

At crowded parties people will come up to me and say things like "you look lonely". But Ive never had that happen on a city street. The OP must go around with a marose look on his face all of the time, or something to prompt that.

Am I alone or lonely? To be honest, I don't know.

I am a lot alone, but can be perfectly happy with that. On the other hand, I have family and friends, and do not feel lonely.
However other people consider me lonely and try to talk that on to me. And sometimes I get the impression it is seen as a vice.

I am often alone by choice. Lonely is for the rough times.

Contract "all one", you get al'one. I can't appreciate the universe with others around.

How could loneliness possibly be a sin? It might be an unconstructive and miserable one, but it's just a feeling! Granted you could perceive it as the consequence of some "sins" if you are so inclined, but I prefer to think of it as an affliction.

Just my 2 pence :)
