Upcoming Malcolm Gladwell book about misfits
I'm looking forward to this book. The description on Amazon mentions that it has a "new interpretation" of what it means to cope with a disability or to be discriminated against. Anything about underdogs and misfits should be interesting, anyway.

"...everywhere, the ceremony of innocence is drowned." -- Yeats
with his earlier work he really focused on innovation and change and how it came about. Interesting to see how he treats "misfits" from that perspective. Studies of social animals has shown how important misfits are for critical tasks among ants and caterpillars. Social animals tend to "follow the leader" which of course means that the leader has to be a misfit who can actually find new pathways to food and other resources. Otherwise the colony would die walking in circles. Sounds familiar?
