I'm going through an emotional/mental breakdown. My grades in school are going down, I'm repulsive to women, and it's just all causing me to feel worthless. My personal hygiene is getting less attention, and I've started to smoke cigars and drink when I can...

Any advice on getting out of this hole before I dig it any deeper?

Well, I guess you know what you should be doing....i.e. stopping smokeing and washing more.

Is it a motivational issue?

Lay off on drinking the booze. It only makes s**t worse if you drink to an extreme.

Yes, booze is a depressant. Don't deal with depression by using a depressant. :)

"Why do we fall, sir? So that we might better learn to pick ourselves up." - Alfred

I know I'm being hypocritical now, as I'm curently drunk and giving advice that says cut back on the drinking. That'll help. Alcohol's not kind on the body or the mind, especially if it is in excess. I do have a nice wine bottle collection now though.
