Talking too much

Yes, this is me to a T. I relate to a lot of what people on here are saying, especially the bit about the dinner party. That happens to me all the time. Of course, if the topic turns to something that doesn't interest me, or if it's just small talk, I sit there with a blank stare on my face and have nothing to add to the conversation.

I had this problem even as a very young child. I was linguistically precocious (full sentences at 19 months or so), and by the time I was six I would go up to complete strangers and tell them all about the Space Shuttle, in exasperating detail.
