Who else has these? I just had a couple today (Kinda had an ugly day in general). The first one was in 1st period. For silent reading, I was coloring one of my drawings and my colored pencil broke. I tried sharpening it but it just got worse and worse. Afterwards, I just lost it when my colored pencils rolled off my desk and onto the floor (The desks are pretty small). I shouted a curse word and rocked compulsively. In my 4th period class, I was sitting at a table with a bunch of NT punks who were making fun of my one of my favorite bands. I screamed at the top of my lungs and nearly pushed the table over I got so worked up. This sort of anger worries me and I think i'll be going to anger management in the near future. I don't have outbursts on a regular day basis but certain things set me off and forgetting to take my medication doesn't help one bit.

I have regular outbreaks at work and at home.

There are anger outbreaks, and crying out breaks or both.

The straw that broke the camels back.

I used to have regular outbursts in class when I was in the fourth grade.

Actually, I remember my life changing for the worst between 8-10. Apparantly, it is a normal thing for some autistics. With me is was subtle. I may have been the only one that REALLY noticed. SOME people have it happen in a very dramatic way. LUCKILY, I don't think I had any such outbursts, though sometimes I HAVE heavily overreacted and made a scene. Try to take it easy though, ESPECIALLY with people insulting people you may not even PERSONALLY know.

As for drugs? If they help, try to CONSTANTLY remember them. At least YOU probably don't have the problem I do! Forgetting my drugs could cause me a stroke.

I do sometimes, but I freeze up first, then go outside to let it out. But a few times I wasn't so lucky.

I've managed to train my outbursts into storming out of the room, out of the build, into the outside away from people, sometimes accompanied by a stern "Leave Me Alone!" Sometimes this only draws more unwanted attention to myself because more people see me, but at least I try to go away before I get violent and start punching boxes or the wall.

I dont remember out burst in school....it never really bothered me,I was emotionally detached, numb and would cry but not really about frustration things, just general sadness of life.

I have had more experience of this at work and the trigger is ALWAYS some one at work doing something mean, inconsiderate, illogical or lazy. Those are all triggers and the lack of control over my environment can send me fuming but I dont do anything more then swear under my breath, whine to co-workers(rarely)or b***h about it to my boyfriend when I get home.I know I am over reacting but it is as Hale-bop describes.....accumulative.I dont scream "inside" the first time someone ignores a resident who is trying to talk to them(while the staff chats away to each other or cell phone)but after the 1000 time and four years of this behavior,it drives me nuts everytime it happens(as if it had happened 1001 times on the same day.)

When I was in elementary and high school I had lots of outbursts. I still do but I'm usually alone.

Been there, bought the T-shirt. I'm not sure that I'd ever had that many outbursts at school, actually. I know that I had a few around when I moved in 7th grade, and probably in elementary school. In high school though, oh man, my poor family. I was a regular psychotic. Please take my advice: try to know exactly how much self control you have before you outburst. You can surprise yourself. I can't speak for everyone obviously, but if you're like me, you'll probably end up looking back and thinking about what a spazz you were. I still have my really bad moods as often as I used to, but I save all my energy for my punching bag at home. Even just crying into a pillow sometimes is a good thing. The main thing is that if you scare the crap out of people and alienate them, then there's no one to talk to when you're in a good mood.

Oh, I had those all the time! Try just being more enthusiastic about your role as a student. Aspies kick ass when they really set their teeth to something. It's okay to be a nerdy f**k! It gets you into wonderful colleges, and successful people get all the best stuff. Most importantly, having a positive attitude helps to prevent such breakdowns.

I was in school during the sixties. Hippie freedon had not become official yet. Teachies had paddles, and knew how to use them. And if a teachie paddled you - your dad would be ready not to sue the school, but to complete the job the teachie had begun.

I had no outbursts. I drew lots of airplanes on desktops. Generally in elevation. with thrust lines.

I had my share of outburst in grade school. I always got upset when something didn't happen, or if something violated my own personal sense of right/wrong. The most common cause though were people bugging me.

I'd get sent to the office and talked to by counslers or the principal, but nothing was really ever solved. They just sent a note home.
