When this happened I was drunk and it was very late at night (I was at my friends wedding reception prior)

My old friend from school (he works in a care home for people with autism) introduced me to some of his friends at one of his mates houses. I was talking with the group for a whole and got to a point where the guy who lived there put his head in his hands in embarrassment when I was talking. At the end of the night the owner of the house insisted that he walked me home (I only lived half a mile away from the house) even when I said I was okay to walk by myself.

As he walked me home he said to me "it's very obvious you have aspergers". I asked him "how" and he said "because of lack of eye contact and lack of empathy". He walked me back to my house and he even waited on front drive if I could get into my house okay.

I usually go everywhere on my with no problem. I have toured around the entire city of London on my own.

Overall what do you make of this scenario? I was slightly drunk but not so drunk that I could not even walk

My 'guess' is that he wanted to talk to you about having Asperger's and used the walk home as an excuse to have the conversation away from people.

I think he assumed you had too much to drink and wanted to make sure you were safe. It isn't about distance it's about being a drunken fool.
