To take advantage of us.

Not saying we're too mentally weak to have a relationship with an NT, but I'm sure if they could they would rather date someone normal like them.

It could be the case sometimes----that someone might want to "take advantage" of us because of our disability.

But I don't believe this is a prevailing thing. I believe many NT's find people with autism fascinating, and also feel interested in their intelligence, and want to "take care" of them.

There are many reasons why NT's desire people with autism.

It's good to confirm these things every once in while.

I got involved with my Aspie husband mostly because we’re eerily similar, despite me being very neurotypical. We have similar interests, goals, opinions, beliefs, values, principles, etc… He’s intelligent, sweet, interesting, honest, and has a fantastic sense of humor. I love his honesty and that he says what he thinks (I’m very difficult to offend/not sensitive - otherwise I would have been long gone, haha). We don’t have any problems communicating with each other. He understands me, I understand him. He’s my best friend and favorite person in the world. I’ve never met anyone like him. I’ve been able to be my full, authentic self with him in a way that I’ve never been able to be with anyone else. It has just been a wonderful, fun, and exciting three years together.

Even if he’s often an impatient grouch, forgets that I can’t read his mind, and can’t gauge his tone!

You have a cute name: Holli.

Maybe that could account for everything

I guess people get irritated with me because I attempt to be diplomatic when I really want to be blunt.

Either they want something real in their lives(no lies, no games, just honesty), or they want someone to take advantage of. its either one or the other pretty much.

Maybe they just meet someone . .. . . Like them, are attracted to them, and the Asperger thing is incidental . . .. ?
