Glenn McCall is the Republican National Committee committeeman from South Carolina.

Speaking about the GOP's efforts to reach out to more people, he said he was excited to see how the party “engaged ethnic communities across the country,” and talked about hiring more field staff and traveling to “various communities we have never gone to before,” and also stating that “staffing people of color in various communities across the country (will not be) just an election year activity” and will now be “year round.”

I'm not entirely sure what to make of this. Mixed thoughts.

The Repugs already have the votes of the very large number of retards who read garbage like this

But, the Repugs realize that there are people who aren't retarded White men and who also vote. Those votes are going to become increasingly crucial to winning future elections. So, the Repugs perceive no choice but to try to throw some bones in the direction of a few "people of color" out there.

Not to mention, the Fox Noise viewers are getting older and will be dying off.

This looks like a vast underestimation of the challenge the GOP faces with regards to non-white voters.

Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann were unable to fix the image of the GOP among female voters (they were actually even less popular than the male Republican politicians).

So why should staffing GOP organizations with a few token minority officials here and there make a difference?

Last time I checked, Herman Cain wasn't exactly a success story for the GOP.

Oh, he was a tremendous success, in their minds. He proved that teabaggers ain't racist. They won the moral high ground. Very important, to hold and maintain the moral high ground.

He didn't exactly prove that teabaggers ain't ignorant. But, at least they ain't racist.

Herman was doing pretty well for awhile. Until all those women started accusing him of sexual harassment, and he revealed that his foreign policy was "Uhhhhhhhhh," and he started quoting Pokemon for whatever reason.

Mr. Cain also demonstrated that the Repugnican affection for female voters goes very deep. For the Repubnicans, he penetrated a very important barrier.

Last time I checked, Herman Cain also said that he would not appoint Muslims as judges or as members of his cabinet.

Not exactly the epitome of "outreach" in the GOP.

We have very few Muslims in this country, anyway. We've probably never had a Muslim judge nor cabinet member. Lots of Jews, but probably no Muslims.

2.6 million according to Pew estimates. That's almost half of the population of my country of Denmark.

Yeah, but that's less that 1% of our population.

They can reach out to minorities and women all they want, but until they can stop voter suppression, stop advocating allowing business owners to discriminate against their customers, and stop opposing laws giving women the right to sue for discriminatory wages, it isn't going to mean a good goshdarn.
