I know this may seem like an odd question but I just wanted to share it on here anyway. I prefer to watch films what are about parents with kids, and they always seem to have kids that aren't the same sex, like if there are two kids it's usually a boy and a girl, or if they have three kids it's usually two boys and a girl or two girls and a boy, and so on.

Out of all the films about families that I have, there's only three films about families that do have kids of the same sex. They are:-

Horrid Henry: The Movie (two boys)
Ramona And Beezus (three girls)
Diary Of A Wimpy Kid (three boys)

Have you watched any family films that have kids that are the same gender? Name some here.

An interesting question! I would guess that most moviemakers prefer to include at least one boy and one girl in the family so that there will be a greater chance that each person in the audience will identify with someone.

But I grew up in a family with three boys, so I don't have much of an idea of what it would be like to have a sister.

As for your question, I'm trying to think of some recent examples, but I'm mostly coming up with movies based on old stories that I'm not sure fit the category. For instance, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen is about a family with five daughters. And the story of Joseph from the Bible, which has had a couple of movies made out of it, is about a family with 12 brothers. (Actually, they had at least one sister too, and probably more than one, but only the brothers are mentioned in the story.)

IDK about movies, but TV shows:

Full House ( Danny had 3 daughters, with Jesse & Becky having twin boys later )
Home Improvement ( 3 boys )
Last Man Standing ( 3 girls )
Buffy The Vampire Slayer ( Buffy had a sister starting from season 5...though she was a mystical "key" made human so does she still count? )
Charmed ( 4 girls...and prior to the comic continuation, Piper & Leo had 2 boys )
Dragon Ball Z & GT ( Goku had 2 sons )

Despicable Me & the sequel; 3 orphan girls who were adopted
The Rugrats movies; Tommy & Dill were both brothers.

Not sure if the TV show The O.C. counts sense one of the two brothers was adopted
