Kate Hepburn in "holiday" (1938) quoting Macbeth's "out, out, damned spot." in the closing line of The Green Goddess (1930), actor George Arliss, as a Asian tyrant, dismisses a woman who escaped his clutches with the comment, "She probably would have been a damned nuisance, anyway." way back in 1930, in the movie "Hell's Angels" (1930) you could hear much more severe swearing than that.
