What is your first name?: Carla

Age: 32

Location: North Carolina, USA

Hobbies and Interests: drawing, anime/manga, design, web design, music, horror movies and so forth. I'm trying to learn to make art dolls and ball-jointed dolls at the moment. :3

Why are you here?: I'm pretty isolated, so I'm really hoping to make some friends!

When were you diagnosed?: I've been to many psychiatrists & psychologists since I was about seven. I was diagnosed with ADD or ADHD (I honestly don't remember which) when I was eight. When I was nine, I started having suicidal thoughts, and was diagnosed with depression and put on meds for that. At sixteen, I was hearing things and was taken to a psychologist who informally diagnosed me with Asperger's. I was formally diagnosed at age twenty-one. I know that Asperger's is no longer a diagnosis in the DSM IV so I really don't know what I'd be called now....Autistic Spectrum Disorder, maybe? O_o

Favorite subjects: History, art history, the paranormal

Favorite music: I have a lot, music is super important to me :) I love gothic rock, dark wave, J-Rock & Pop, rock from the 70s-early 2000s, "indie" rock, new wave, downtempo/chillout, techno, trance, early music (medieval), game & movie scores, and more.

Books: My favorite authors are H.P. Lovecraft, Stephen King, and Clive Barker.

TV shows/Movies: Movies: Hellraiser 1-4, Candyman, Alien, The Wicker Man (the original one), The Thing, From Hell, Slumber Party Massacre, Halloween, Friday the 13th, It Follows, Dogma, Aladdin, The Great Mouse Detective, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Pocahantas, The Emporer's New Groove

TV shows: Dexter, Hannibal, Supernatural, Channel Zero, American Horror Story

Instrument: Violin, Fiddle

Do you like sports?: Not really. I'm no good at them and don't really enjoy watching unless it's something like the Superbowl.

Family: Mom & Dad

Clothing: Band shirt and jeans, usually

How did you find this website?: I don't remember. It was a pretty long time ago.

Job: None at the moment. I've tried and each time has been an absolute disaster!

Plans for the future?: Well, I'm about to move house. :?

Makes sense.

What is your first name? "B-but you should't tell your name on the internet?! "

Age: -

Location: Fenno-scandinavia

Hobbies and Interests: Music, micellaneous computer stuff, programming and games, science (physics and maths).

Why are you here? Curious to talk to other aspies.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): I got diagnosed spring 2016, but the possibility had been suspected from when I was eleven at least (though no one never bothered to tell me about that). It just took several years of yes-no -arguing before actually get diagnosed.

Favorite subjects: -

Year/Grade: -

Favorite music: Classical music mostly. Used to listen some metal previously too.

Books: Alan Turing: The enigma, Paranormality: Why we see what isn't there,

TV shows/Movies: I don't watch tv that much really.

Instrument: I play piano and saxophone. Would like to buy ukulele some day. Also started originally with violin but I can't really say I could play anything (that doesn't sound like torturing a cat ).

Do you like sports? Meh. Used to go to gym and maybe continuing running some day.

Family: -

Clothing: I used to dress somehow gothic, but nowadays it just black jeans and black shirt/sweater/cardigan since I don't care that much about clothing and generally too lazy so just keeping it simple works best.

How did you find this website? Stumbled across while ago and lurked some time until decided to actually create an account.

Job: Currently doing some motley smaller jobs.

Plans for the future? -

Only drawback with playing saxophone (and also having over sensitive hearing) is that the sound is loud . But oh well, earplugs exist.

What is your first name? Yenna.

Age: 20 years old, as of July 30th.

Location: The Netherlands.

Hobbies and Interests: Video editing, gaming, 3D origami.

Why are you here? Because I sometimes need to let stuff out to people who aren't close to me.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): If I remember correctly, I was first diagnosed in 2007 (when I was 10) and again with the same diagnosis in 2014.

Favorite subjects: Translating, English.

Year/Grade: 1st year Translation Studies student.

Favorite music: Korean pop music.

Books: -

TV shows/Movies: Family Guy, Snakes in the City, Airport Security, South Park, American Dad.

Instrument: I used to play Violin and Bass Guitar.

Do you like sports? I love dancing.

Family: I have a sister (27) and a brother (19) and my mother and father are divorced. My mother re-married and my father has been with his girlfriend for about... 7-8 years I think?

Clothing: Usually very simple. Black clothing, jeans, shoes with heels, simple tank tops or a sweater and a halflong black coat.

How did you find this website? It's a lovely place.

Job: Video editor for a Youtube channel.

Plans for the future? Lose weight.

Any comments? Aside from my diagnosis I also am 99% sure I have an eating disorder. Habits include laxative abuse, chewing & spitting, overexercising and purging.

What is your first name? Skipping this one because people using my real name on here would make me uncomfortable

Age: 24

Location: Kansas City area (in my profile, it's a bad attempt at a Hellraiser reference  )

Hobbies and Interests: Currently obsessed with the band Tool, everything to do with Hellraiser, and The Sims 4 Cats and Dogs

Why are you here? Professionally diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome when I was a kid

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): When I was in fourth grade or so - I guess that would be around the year 2002.

Favorite subjects: Anything science related

Year/Grade: Graduated from college two years ago

Favorite music: Metal, especially anything by Tool

Books: Horror, fantasy, sci-fi

TV shows/Movies: I'm trying to watch all the movies that people expect a horror fan to have seen, but I haven't. I'm enjoying the Saw movies, and I'm completely obsessed with everything Hellraiser. I used to be obsessed with The X-Files, but am not so much anymore. I enjoy Grimm and Stranger Things, and have been watching American Horror Story recently.

Instrument: Learning guitar, can play piano

Do you like sports? Nope

Family: Living with my parents; 1 brother, 2 years younger than me, at college out of town most of the time right now

Clothing: I pretty much only wear jeans and T-shirts, with a hoodie when it's cold

How did you find this website? I really don't remember now. I lurked for five or six years before I finally started posting.

Job: I was a janitor for a little over a year, but lost that job in August because the company was sold and have been searching for another job I can perform since then.

Plans for the future? Hopefully being able to support myself and live on my own at some point.

Any comments? Been dealing with severe depression and a tendency to self-harm lately, very frustrated by the fact that I haven't been able to get a job I can support myself on. When I'm experiencing a strong emotion, am very stressed, overloaded, or nervous, I can't speak understandably, or sometimes at all, no matter how hard I try, and most jobs I can find require some level of social interaction above the amount I can handle.
