Does anyone know of any movies (not documentaries) or tv shows about Asperger's Syndrome or Autism? Or even ones that just include a character on the spectrum? The only thing I know of is Mozart and the Whale. (And The Big Bang Theory and Bones, if those really count.)

Parenthood two of it's main characters have Aspergers

two? isn't it only Max?

He's not technically a main character, but Ray Romano/Hank the photographer comes to the gradual realization that he could have AS also.
They show a few scenes of him meeting with the psychiatrist/counselor who Max had seen, and Hank tries to comprehend his own interpersonal difficulties.
As an adult who wasn't dx'd until age 30, it is easier for me (now) to relate to Hank's story than just to the teen challenges Max faces...

And I also highly recommend Doc Martin, I love that show-everyone in it is quirky or atypical in some way or other, and Martin Clunes does a marvelous job as the main character.
He doesn't really accept the label of having Asperger's (as is often the case in a fictional program), but we the audience can pretty clearly observe his behavior & draw our own conclusions.

Mary and Max is a REALLY good stop-animation movie about not only Asperger's syndrome, but also depression and addiction. it's really funny and accurate, though you may want to skip it if you prefer movies with happy endings
Also, Adam is a good movie, and stars Hugh Dancy from Hannibal.

Just watched the film "The Story of Luke" (2012), it was relatively subtle & nuanced-understated-for a dx genre movie.

Supposedly one of the characters in the movie Benny and Joon is on the spectrum, but I personally found the movie too boring and silly to watch without skipping through it a lot.

Adam is my favorite of all these, I think because I align more closely with the protagonist here than in movies like Mozart and the Whale.

The main detective in the series Hannibal has aspergers. Also Hannibal has a fascinating upper lip and wears some fine suits.

There was a movie promoted on WP years ago (I'm thinking fall 2008), title goes something like "If you could only say it in words" It didn't look very good, so I'm not surprised that no one seems to remember it.

The only one I'm aware of (Other than The Big Bang Theory) is a show called "The Bridge" starring Diane Kruger as an Aspie detective. It's the show that Wrong Planet's Alex Plank was a consultant on.

It's actually a pretty good show, I enjoyed the episodes I watched but just couldn't make time for it with my other shows.

I've watched the original Scandinavian version, with Sofie Helin playing Saga Norén, an Aspie detective from Sweden, while the show is focused on both Sweden and Denmark.

I felt it was pretty good.

As others have mentioned, Mary and Max is a heartwarming stop motion film with one of the main characters being an Aspie, though as it does start before being a diagnosis, especially in adults, it doesn't really come up at first.

Alphas also has one of its main characters as a high-functioning autistic and portrayed pretty well, even if the actor himself is NT. Unfortunately, it only lasted two seasons and ends on a massive cliffhanger. Got screwed by Syfy, big time.
