I have a playful personality and act goofy at times and sometimes get in trouble and offend people doing so and get told to grow up is this normal for someone on the autistic spectrum?

This is a yes and no answer because we are on a spectrum
Some of us are as serious as dead babies and some of us use them for target practice

There is no such thing as being normal on the autistic spectrum!

get in trouble and offend people and get told to grow up

is however
a prerequisite!
:D

Absolutely!

Some people are just too tangy, wanting to conform to what they deem fit all the time. I believe every adult has an inner child, people with autism just feel less connection with society and it's social standards so for us it feels more natural and comfortable to let it out now or then. While I can be serious sometimes there can also be times where I just can't help myself and be overly excited and feel childish joy. This is also why I can connect way more with other people with autism, just as I they feel much more joy in simple playful things. Sadly all the autistic people I knew in my area moved to other areas, so I kind of miss being able to be comfortably goofy around them.

I can be too serious at times but most of the time I'm quite playful. I think my wife really appreciates my playful side as it seems to make her laugh and smile.
