I have seen this question on a few autism test. I'm curious how other respond to it

My father used to tell people that I thought animals were people. He also said that I liked animals better than people.
They called me the animal lady.
It seems so natural to relate to animals.

Although there have been people I've loved, I strongly agree that I basically prefer animals to people. People, and connections to them, are ALWAYS complicated; bonding with animals never is.
A friendship with an animal is simple, pure and unburdened by weird dynamics. The company of animals is also soothing and calming; when I've been around animals and no humans for an hour or two, I feel like I've just taken the best medication in the world. Bathed in serotonin.

Animals and people I?m comfortable with are easy company. In general though I prefer the simplicity of animals, and as long as you are fair to them the payback comes without any strings attached.

Yes, I definitely prefer animals to humans in general.
My loved ones change it a little. My love for my mother is as deep (but different) from my love for the pet turtles and the collie we had in the past. I cared more for my beloved pets than for any friend I've had. That doesn't mean I didn't care for the human friends, it's just that I loved my pets. They were like family. The friends were not.
Obviously I care more about my family (and pets when I had them) than I do a strange animal. I care way more for a strange animal than a strange human.

Animals are a lot less stressful to me and I enjoy meeting and being around them. But it falls short of the best company which is a person you really like.
But I don't need much beyond my immediate family, so would more easily add new animals to my life then people.

I didn't think I preferred animals to people but after observing myself at parties and other peoples homes I realize I'm more interested in the pets than the homeowners or party goers. I guess I do prefer animals to people I just didn't know it.

I would go so far as to say that animals are people to me. People with fur, feathers, scales, etc. And who are a lot easier to understand and interact with than the Naked Ape.

It's been two months since I moved out of my parents house and you know what I realize? I really miss their dog but I don't miss them. I'm really looking forward to seeing our poodle this thanksgiving but I don't have the same strong feelings for my own parents.

I like people, but they can be so unpredictable and difficult to get to know. Animals are such easy companions, and, like my dog, are always up for the usual activities.
