OS X x86 on normal PC
I DLed an ISO image of OS X 10.4.6 x86 that i heard u can run natively on a normal PC.
it booted fine, kind of like one of those live linux CDs where u can do stuff before and during the installation itself. it all seemed to work good buttttttt it would not see my SATA drive. it saw my IDE devices, but i also have a SATA/RAID controller. i wanted to install it on a free partition i left at the start of my raid drive i left for if i ever decided to install an OS on it, like now.
so any of you mac ppl know how to get it to look for sata controller? i assume it checks if u have ide, and only if you dont, checks for s/ata.
That thing stil around?
I wanted to try that but didn't have compatible enough hardware to do it on,,, you need a pretty big checklist to get it all right, everything from what brand motherboard you have... to well- as you can see.
I'm surprised the install actually booted!
WOuld have been nice though wouldn't have it?
Apparently the macs are pretty much the same as a particular line of DELLS - when dell wanted to manufacture MAC's but then Apple opted ot or something or other,,, so those line of DELL's are acutally spot on compatible with only minor tweakin.
