I enjoyed this video about an autistic boy who's interested in lego blocks and building all kind of things.

Love it! Thanks for sharing this. It's brightened my day. I really hope he gets his wish. I'm looking forward to the next instalment.

What do you mean with: "looking forward to the next instalment"?

He said his mum was going to video him visiting the factory and building the Titanic. I hope they share. IMO it should be made into a documentary and shared with the world. He's a great advocate.

I like Lego too. A few years ago I spent $6,000 to build up a massive collection of Lego. At the moment I'm getting paid a $130 a day to play with Lego (temporally) as part of a paid traineeship.

I get paid for playing with Lego too. I also get to pick it up, wash it and sort it. I love that part of my job.

My wish has been granted. The link won't work for me but I see he's in the process of building the Titanic at the Lego factory? Yay!

Really? What sort of job do you have?

What kind of traineeship is it?

Software testing. They're teaching the principles of software testing using Lego as a medium. It's a collobaration between Specialisterne, HP and DHS.

Sounds like an interesting traineeship. Is there any prospect of work after it ends? I'm surprised at the amount of money you're earning. Most people I know on traineeships only get a pittance.

Yes, I think I will probably get a job. They say if they hire me permanently I'll start in mid January (more training at first). They also hinted at the possibility of later promotion, the chance to earn internal qualifications, etc.

I think this could be a fast track to employment for me that will make up for lost time. Before I found out about this I was thinking I'd spend five or six years studying next year (diploma first, than degree) but I'd rather take this opportunity now that it's come along. Partly because it has a higher probability of working (no need to worry about failing uni exams or ending up unemployed with a degree) and partly because I want to get a job before I turn 30 (spending years at uni would have been fine for me in my late teens and early twenties but I'm older than that now and I want to have a job).

I'm surprised that they're paying me that much. That's more than I earned in my last job. If they had made it a totally unpaid internship they would still have had many applicants. Not to mention they said I still get my pension during the traineeship because it's not permanent work so I get $130 per weekday plus a $1,058 per fortnight pension at the same time (and no income tax on either) :D

I know a guy that has well over $200 000 USD worth of LEGO that he will admit to. He has spent a lot more than that but is reluctant to say how much. He rents several commercial locations to store it all.
