It did. Though I'm sure Henry Cavill likes to pretend it didn't.

I loved it, took to it like a duck to water. It is a very very weird film, but I like that sort of thing. It won't plot spoil it for anyone if I spell out the beginning of the story - it feels like it is set a bit in the future, and it is about a society where it is illegal to be single. People who are single for some time (weeks or months) have to go to a detention centre that is very like a hotel. There are men and women there, and if you do not find a partner after a certain amount of time, you are turned into an animal of your choice.

There is another film by the same director called Dogtooth that is even more abnormal, lovely stuff.

Kong: Skull Island.

While hardly a perfect movie, the abundance of giant monsters more than makes up for any shortcomings.
The secret government project of MONARCH, back in 1973 as Vietnam winds down, gets the federal government to send a research team with military escort to land on an island surrounded by both myth and impenetrable storms to search for natural resources. That is in fact an pretext, as the people behind the expedition know the island is in fact where a secret underground world opens up to the surface, and where the planet's true masters can threaten the world of man. And on Skull Island, the undisputed king is Kong, the gigantic gorilla who protects the small human population there. This is in fact a prequel to the Godzilla movie of a few years ago.
