Get Out

I had a vague idea what this movie was about because it received a fair amount of promotion by Jordan Peele. I found the movie very enjoyable, much more subtle than the interviewers suggested. Really well done, in my opinion.

The fact that I watched it again with the commentary should answer that. :P

The Space Between Us

As I told my son, it is ironically not The Martian or any of the other movies concern space that he and I enjoy like Gravity or Interstellar. But it was nice.

The Space Between Us is good, It is a romance about a rebellious hardened teenage girl who comes from a family consisting of a drunken single slob of a dad. She befriends a teenage boy born and living on Mars, though she does not know this. That presents some complications. That sounds like it could be comedy, but it's not. It's a sweet romance, and that's ok.

Then I watched the the last 15 minutes of The Hours. I've seen it before, a couple times. I listen to the Philip Glass sound track very nearly everyday, so even if I didn't like the story, i would enjoy it. Fortunately, I like the movie. The Illusionist is like that too. Philip Glass music and a movie.

Eden Lake.

Exceedingly disturbing horror film starring Michael Fassbender. A British man (Fassbender) plans to propose to his girlfriend while on a lakeside camping trip in rural England. That's when they run afoul of a group of teen and preteen juvenile dilinquents. Soon, they discover the young gang are homicidal sadists. Hard to watch at times, but still a great movie of the genre.
