as someone with a probable PD who has talked to many people with PDs, i'd like to point out that this test really isn't accurate. it's fine to take as an initial indicator but don't take any of it to heart or get too worried. you'd be better off with a series of individual tests, honestly.

I don't feel very normal. I feel like maybe I should be locked up. I feel like my family has been keeping this a secret from me my whole life in hopes I'd just grow out of it or something. Maybe they don't even know. Hard to imagine though.

I don't "feel normal" either :alien: but normal is not the be-all and end-all of living. the orange-haired man in the white house [and his supporters] are "normal" as well, so don't put "normal" up on a pedestal. as a far wiser person said, "be who you are and say what you feel, because the people who matter don't mind, and the people who mind, don't matter."

I hope it's ok to ask questions in this thread. hi auntblabby!

Can a person be an Aspie/HFA and be a malignant narcissist?

What is the difference between Narcissistic Personality Disorder and a malignant narcissist, if anything?

Thank you!

^^^hiya Britte :flower: it seems to me, that a "malignant narcissist" is the popular term that some use to refer to some garden-variety sociopaths, and in turn the term "sociopath" is used to refer to people dx'ed with/adjudged to have antisocial personality disorder.

Malignant narcissism is a psychological syndrome comprising an extreme mix of narcissism, antisocial personality disorder, aggression, and sadism. Often grandiose, and always ready to raise hostility levels, the malignant narcissist undermines organizations in which they are involved, and dehumanizes the people with whom they associate.

^^^^wish I could answer that definitively. I can only relate that in retrospect [30+ years ago] I was in the army with people who in my modern judgment seemed to be on the aspie spectrum but also had certain sociopathic behavioral traits.
