I am an architecture major. I absolutely love everything about it, because I have always been fascinated with designing, science, and mathematics. The great thing about architecture, is that it includes all three of those things.
My ultimate goal is to have a career in architecture associated with the animation industry. That would be amazing !

When I first went back to school I was a history major. I love classical history and I'm fascinated by the failure of the Roman Republic.

However, I soon discovered that I also loved other social sciences (sociology, economics, psychology, political science, criminal justice, etc.).

After talking with an advisor, I switched to social work. Social Work is really applied social science, using elements of all the above mentioned subjects to solve real world, human problems.

I'm starting my fieldwork year this fall!

:D

I'm studying industrial microbiology (biotechnology).
I like seeing the results on a petri dish after I've done a streak, but you don't know if you did it right until 24 hours later. It's almost like opening up a surprise gift.
I like when I do an experiment (like when I inserted a gene into E.coli to make it glow under a UV light), and it works out perfectly.
I also like the challenge of being given an unknown organism and having to do biochemical tests to figure out what it is. I love figuring out puzzles.

Here's a picture of the glowing E.coli in case anyone is curious
(The bottom left is the one with the gene to make it glow. The rest are controls).

I am a theatre major (as my username suggests) at a very good University with what is considered to be one of the best theatre programs in the country. While I primarily have done acting and backstage work, since coming here I have tried my hand at theatre design and directing. In the fall I will be prop designing for one of our productions. I just got home from school on Wednesday after completing my Junior year. In one more year I'll have a BA in theatre arts from a reputable school. :)

Could you imagine if you went to the bathroom and your poop glowed?
At least you wouldn't need a nightlight.

lol, yeah if you didn't believe in flushing...it would be more appropriate to drop in a public restroom unflushed, I'm sure national security would get called at some point. What was this thread about again? Oh yeah, studying...as you can tell my degree got me far up on the intellectual humor ladder.

If you've got autism I see the theater class being a struggle-- it's a very social environment. I took a few movie classes in college, while I was good at the technical side, the logistical side of making movies and the constant social interaction sucked.

If I were you, I'd do 1st year comp in the first semester. No matter what you major in you'll need good writing skills.
