No siblings. I'm happy about that for the most part, but sometimes I really want someone to talk to.

I am the youngest of two.

I'm 8th of 10 kids.

I'm the eldest of 5, and my brothers never let me forget it, as they always throw the epithet "Well you were always mom's favorite!" In my face, and rub it in like dog sh!t.

Firstborn. My brother is 4 1/2 years younger than I am.

The results of the poll so far:

Then so far 54 of the respondents out of the 84 were actually "first born" children:
(Oldest as firstborns = 34, half of the multiple births were first born = 2, only children are also first born children = 18 = a total of 54, a surprisingly large number on this informal WP survey).

I remember reading somewhere that a study found a preponderance of firstborns with AS that was statistically significant, when the firstborns were compared with their own younger siblings. There may be something in the theory of firstborns being more likely to be on the spectrum, though as children of all birth orders appear on it too, being first born cannot be causal.

I'm the first born, with one younger sister.

I have a twin brother, we're fraternal. I think he may have a neurological disorder besides autism, either that or it's very minor. He doesn't suffer from any social issues, but he seems to not understand things in school very well, whereas I usually do (unless it's math ).

I'm an only child.

Oldest of not only my siblings but all my cousins.

Only. It was boring; I wanted a sibling; but now I'm glad I didn't have one because I have a feeling it would have been a perfect, glowing, sparkling NT child whom I would have constantly been compared to.

I am the middle child in my family. I have two brothers, one of them is three years older than me, and my other brother is three years younger than me.
