I don't understand what this is supposed to be about. I need more here. Is it about how a person's faith can have the unintended effect of making them lose all memory of their prior incarnation?

These days i argue that there is nothing to be saved from and nowhere to be saved to.

But if you have to believe in the unreal, faith without works is like meaning to take out the trash but never actually taking it out. It's functionally equivalent to meaning to never take out the trash.

I have enough trouble remembering the life i am living.

Did you know that scientists are pretty sure that when you remember an experience, you are actually remembering the last time you remembered it?

So if you were to be "saved by faith" then you would remember your past lives?

Which 'faith' are you talking about?

If Evangelical Christians are out to "save" you , and then by saving you they enabled you to remember past lives-then that recovered memory would make you a reincarnation believing Hindu- which would cause you to loose Christian salvation. So being saved would cause you to loose salvation.A total contradiction. So I am lost as to where you are coming from. Unless its a band of Hindu Evangelists who are out to "save" you. In that case then it all makes sense. Except it doesnt really make sense because most folks in reincarnation believing cultures still don't claim to consciously remember any of their past lives either.

It was actually a New Age riend who told me there was a guy he knew who practised past lives so often he didn't know which life he was in. It seem like something best left alone to me.

Maybe read philip k dick's exegesis?

He wrote about an experience he had where he shared consciousness with the prophet Elijah.

But he was probably schizophrenic.

Maybe just read Valis.
