Don't get me wrong I do love those old merrie melodies cartoons
during the 1940's

But there are a few that would be truamatising for a little kid to watch
especialy "Early bird catches the worm 1939"

During the scene where the fox sticks the poor little bird in between
2 slices of bread, And the little bird starts screaming "MAMI! MAMI MAMI HELLLLLLLP!! !"
The merciless, fox contiunes to prepare his "Snack".he pulls out the bottle of
ketchup and starts to poor it all over the little bird. I could not help but to feel sorry
for the little bird.
It is amazing how cartoons were like this back then

I had nightmares as a kid when i watched this one.

It was popular in my childhood, but it seemed to have died down, especially in this century.

Youshould see, as far as "unacceptable" images go, some of the older cartoons thathaven't been on US TV for decades .
World War II anti-Axis caricatures ( specially vicious ones of Japanese - titles like " You're a Sap , Mr. Jap" and "Bugs Bunny Nips The Nips") , jokes about ,guns and domestic ,sterotypical caricatures of African-Americans, American Indians, and " hillbillies "...I've seen some recent-years screening/(when not homeless) had a couple grey market collector VHSs of some of them!! :) 8) :D

The Animals of Farthing Wood had quite a lot of scenes that were upsetting for the target audience - most notably the episode in which a bird of prey catches the baby mice and graphicly impales them on a thorn bush. Lovely. Scarred me for a good few years.

Bob Clampett, (CLASSIC) Ren & Stimpy, (Original) MTV Celebrity Deathmatch), Ed Edd N Eddy, And even The Muppets were kings of puppet exploding at times.
