Google Inc. is officially no more!

Alphabet will be the name of what will effectively be a new holding company, the Web company said in a blog post Monday. It will include Google Inc. and Calico, a separate unit that includes Google Ventures, Google Capital, Google X and other subsidiaries.

Don't worry all the stock you own in Google Inc. is fully convertible into stock in the new company Alphabet Inc.

Eventually all the stock will trade under GOOG ticker.

Page will become CEO and Sergey will become President of Alphabet (both at Alphabet).
Sundar will become CEO of the new Google (subsidiary of Alphabet)

More due to branding and structuring.
Each subsidiary will operate on it's own for the most part, acting as it's own company.
Alphabet will fund everything, be legally responsible for everything, market everything, and most other stuff.
Alphabet will also be able to intervene on each subsidiary.

The restructuring should make everything run more efficient.

Might this be why Google Chrome no longer supports Java Script?

No problem.
Also it should allow better reporting to Investors who have been after Google to get rid of the other lackluster and money losing parts.

Doesn't Google, Inc. still exist? Isn't it now just going to be a subsidiary of Alphabet?

Nope Google Inc is dead!
Google subsidiary will take it's place on Monday, once the stock of Google Inc. halts trading.
