For statistics about autism purposes I am conducting a survey regarding the physical classification of body types (morphs).

In case you don't know what a ectomorph, mesomorph and endomorph are, here is a picture.

I am about 5 foot 8 and weigh about 135 pounds but I am fairly slim so I put ectomorph.

I wasn't sure so I took this test:

Says I'm mesomorph so I'm going with that.

The results were this

Endomorph: 25%
Mesomorph: 38%
Ectomorph: 38%

Apparently I'm part all of them, but primarily mesomorph? Who knows.

My understanding is that this classification system has no basis in reality.

The underlying thinking has been debunked.

People still use these terms because they seem more sciencey than "fat, skinny, muscular" but they don't really mean anything and for some people they suggest some sort of biological destiny which is baseless.

But the human body is such a varied thing. How it's supposed to fit into three categories accurately I don't know. So from what I gather from the images:

Endomorph: short and gains fat easily
Mesomorph: medium height and gains muscle easily
Ectomorph: tall and thin

Now, what percentage of the population would be 100% into a single category? There are no doubt there are people who do fit them perfectly, I can think of many examples for each.

Well, that or they're the body-type with the highest average testosterone levels (I would guess).

That test puts me as a 50/50 mesomorph/endomorph. Sounds about right.
