Probably a Christian spa resort, where he'll pray while lounging poolside.

I hope it's someplace where they can figure out what his deal is and help him but if it's more Gothard bs I have my doubts it will do him much good. Maybe part of his problem is too much Bible all along and now he just needs to find out who he really is and feel as if he has some control over his life. Sooner or later you have to comes to terms with yourself. Can't live a lie your entire life. Apparently, he's gotten really good at going through the Christian motions in a shallow way and this is all he's learned about his faith, and that it keeps him from doing what he really wants to do, whatever that is. The way he is acting out is how he subconsciously responds to feeling as if he has no control over his life. He must address that or he will continue on the same road.
You can be with God and not be attached to your Bible. It doesn't always have to be about that. It can be about spiritual matters and getting in tune on a spiritual level. He will need to connect with others spiritually. Everyday affords us all an opportunity to find peace and a spiritual awakening within ourselves.

Chances are they will send him to a place that will feed this delusion he is surrounded by the devil and it's Satan's fault, the culture is Satanic, he is good and none of it is his fault instead of allowing him to figure out what he needs to do to get his impulses under control and to not be so driven by the subconscious. Awareness is what he needs. Right now he acts out unaware and he seems confused. He abuses others trust in him in the process. He will need to figure out what is going on and how to address these compulsions and impulses.

You need not give up your faith to get proven results. I hope they will send him someplace with a good, proven record of helping people.

Now he just needs treatment for being a hypocritical lowlife. For starters, he could stop looking for the speck in his neighbor's eye, when he has a log in his.

He's been programmed by people who espouse extreme religious views.

it's not uncommon for people who find themselves freed from authoritarianism to suddenly let loose. I suspect that's a big part of what's going on with him now.

He's had plenty of time to do that. He says he has an addiction.

Possibly so. Too much fun can certainly get out of hand.

It's more than just him having fun. For one thing, he married a conservative Christian girl who was raised in the same sort of family as he who expected the same kind of marriage as hers and his parents. Then he lobbied the government on behalf of his family's rigid beliefs. He robocalled my mother on behalf of this neocon candidate James Lankford for US Senate, who was running to take the place of Tea Party Senator Tom Coburn and who also won the election. Then we go and find out all this stuff about him. He's just like everyone else. He's putting on a fake front. So why should anyone have to go by the strict guidelines just because of him? He doesn't go by them.

Yeah, man. He robocalls people. Something else you didn't know about him.

Lol, nice. People can accept a lot of s**t, but one thing they don't like is robocalls. Thanks for pointing that out. In fact, that should have been the title of the thread: Josh Duggar robocalls people!

Don't you consider it a bit disturbing Josh Duggar robocalled thousands of people on behalf of ultra family values candidate James Lankford, and Lankford won, all the while Duggar is going screwing porn stars, strippers, paying them thousands of dollars, all while his wife is taking care of his kids, without knowing what's going on, believing she has the kind of marriage JB and Michelle or Ma and Pa Keller have?
That's nothing but lies and corruption.

Yeah, he's a media personality, I don't expect much out of them in the way of morals, even if they're a Christian media personality. Hell, if they're a Christian media personality I half expect there to be tons of hypocrisy going on behind the camera. You can't be talking about ministering to the poor and the "eye of the needle" and all that stuff while at the same time clearing seven figures from your media contract and donating none of it and consider yourself a Christian that's true to the word. Maybe I'm just jaded and desensitized.

But the robocall thing, that's that type of annoying behavior that could actually change peoples hearts and minds, lol.

Josh Duggar was a lobbiest for the Family Research Council! He went far beyond media personality! Now he's got a financial firm called Cornerstone Financial. And here I thought he would be a used car salesman his entire life! I felt comfortable with him in that field. I thought I am so glad all they (he and Anna) are doing is selling used cars. Anna was actually working in the office so it hasn't always been about the women staying at home. The little one was there too, their daughter. They seemed so normal back then.
Unfortunately, it didn't last. Word got out the cars were flooded rejects bought at auctions, I guess. I remember watching an episode of 17 or 18 Kids & Counting right after Nashville got flooded and the Duggars were on the internet scouting out good buys on flooded vehicles.

All of them believe in that. There's been episodes all about thrift store clothing.

If I recall, there's been an episode or two (and an Aldi episode) about potted meat or some other cheap food. I remember thinking, is all they can afford to feed all them kids *scratches head* and the kids looked paler and thinner but then TLC gave them more shows and money and everyone began looking less wan.

That makes me conflicted...I'm glad the kids got fed, but I'm also concerned that it will entice them to breed more.

Although I never really felt totally creeped out by Josh Duggar while watching a few episodes of those early shows, the one that did make my skin crawl from time to time was Jim Bob. I sensed he was the type of guy who could get really angry about stuff. It was the episode with the boys and the pup that gave me that impression. They had gone on vacation or something and JB had to return home with the boys because of this puppy they had that had gotten loose or something. It's been years since I've seen that episode. You could tell the only reason JB was keeping his cool was due to the camera being there but that anger - it was boiling beneath the surface.
