Hi Britte :D

I grew up with pop music which salved the wounds I was receiving as a child.

"Candles in the Wind" by Melanie. Especially accompanied by a video which took place on a winter's day in Miami.

I am not familiar with that song, but, I shall look it up, as I am curious. I know of Elton John's Candle (singular) in The Wind. I hope you've had a pleasant day.

My mistake. Melanie did "Candles in the Rain" LOL

She also did "Brand New Key" about romance, and about old-fashioned roller skates which required a key.

You really have an eclectic mind when it comes to music, Britt.

I'd be curious as to your impression of the "12-tone" composers.

I didn't develop an appreciation for classical music until I became an adult.

I grew up absolutely steeped in top-40 pop music. It was my escape from the world.

^ I hope I didn't put any pressure on you. You seem to be working hard.

I hope everything is harmonious for you for the rest of this evening.

She has impeccable taste in music, it's something I have always admired about her. I always look forward to what she has to share.

Thank you, both. Or, perhaps thanks isn't the applicable response. blackicmenace, you have 'impeccable taste in music, as well'. kk, I haven't forgotten about your enquiry.I will get back to you, here, tomorrow.

Here's one to end the evening, and perhaps fall asleep to:

I can only speak on 12-tone composition, as I haven't the interest in the original composers, themselves. I find the technique too unpredictable, chaotic, ambiguous, intense and anxiety provoking, personally. Chopin, Debussy, Ravel, Grieg, Satie, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Dvořák, Liszt, Glass, Cage, Einaudi, Lorenc, Morricone, Williams, Barry, Richter, Morricone, Yann Tiersen, Arvo Pärt and Gustavo Santaolalla are my favorite composers. May I ask what your impression of 12-tone compositions and/or composers is?

I'm sorry, I did not see this, previously. No, you did not put any pressure on me, what so ever. I appreciate any opportunity to converse on the topic of music. Indeed, my evening was harmonious. Thank you. I hope yours was, as well.
