Gastro Intestinal health / mental Health
Your Guts could be making you nuts
It's true, Hippocrates said "all illness start in the gut "
I wish this info had been made to me sooner , 14 years on the disability pension , no help from "Doctors" "homeopaths" "naturopaths " and all the wanna bee's from the so called health care providers .
Cut out all fat or go low fat .
Myself I am on a no fat diet , I believe this fat intolerance was partially caused by the gut (fat is hard to digest ) partially due to oxidized fats , which I believe caused the brain to inflame , all fats that you buy in store ,oils , nuts , seeds etc have been oxidized as it's been sitting at room temperature for months on end , their are also plenty of studies that shows fatty diets increases the risks of mental illness .....
Eat Fermented vegetables for the probiotics
Must be Home made , store bought is pasteruised ie dead of probiotics , you can buy it at chemists in capsular form , though why would you when fermented vegetables are much cheaper , tastier and in one tablespoon may contain more probiotics than a jar full of tablets , probiotics are important for every one , especially those who have been on a course of antibiotics .
With probiotics being described as the new Prozac, why aren't we all eating this ?
Eat Prebiotics
This helps feed the probiotics , a good source are bananas , which are also tummy friendly
Avoid all hard to digest food/allergenic foods/ eat mono meals
Why not eat easily digested foods like broccoli or carrots for a week or so than reintroduce these foods at a latter date ,if you don't do it this their is no way you will ever identify these aggravating foods , please keep in mind days latter you can experience kick back from these foods , also the effects for it to take hold may be significantly delayed
Common foods to consider avoiding including soy , wheat , nightshades , legumes , pulses .
Investigate Candida /Sibo
Yeast over growth sadly the tests for this and other gastro tests may be lacking in accuracy so why not attempt these suggestions on your own , if you suspect you may have this no sugar it is , what' s so ever , Candida can cause serious mental issues as well
Yes , you can recover from a severe mental illnesses , I felt I had it all from psychosis to de realization , much of which was cured simply by cutting out the fat .
Scary times
Good luck

[quote="Noca"]Better yet, test for intestinal parasites like roundworms or pin worms. They could be causing all of your GI problems. Don't expect your doctor to think of this on their own, for some reason this possibility doesn't cross most doctors minds, even GI specialists.[/q
True most doctors are garbage . 14 years and got no where , thank god for the internet , I will have to put it to bad luck as their was never any pain in the stomach , mild growling and bloating , yet in chronic pain else where

There may be something to that once all the nonscience is swept aside. Your intestines create & help regulate serotonin. Serotonin was the first somatic neurotransmitter; it helps to co-regulate a lot of processes.
Such as: sleep cycles, hunger, thirst, sensory issues, immune response, autoimmune response, mood...
...and there have been a number of findings that connect low serotonin levels with some of the symptoms of autism (see list above).

We've seen a HUGE difference in our ASD kids with dietary change. I have had improvement as well, but not as much as they have. I have also read scientific research studies stating that people with ASD statistically do better on a ketogenic diet (not the one you are on...but people are different). I do strongly believe that diet can make a HUGE difference for at least a portion of the ASD community!! !! I mean....everyone functions better when their health is optimal!! !
