Think about the Return of the Jedi. Remember the Ewoks? Most people hated the Eworks, but they still liked the movie.

The same is true with feminist criticism of media. Just because a feminist criticized an element of it, perhaps not very many female characters or one-dimensional portrayals of women, doesn't mean that that feminist hates the movie. It just means he or she found that aspect to be wanting.

You can criticize elements of a movie, or a book, and still like the work as a whole.
