I know the title sounds like something that would better suit the Careers subforum here, but I felt the social skills section was more appropriate

Tomorrow I'll be starting my training shift at a McDonald's restaurant, and I'm starting to get really anxious about it. As well as the fear of making mistakes, my social skills aren't the greatest. Be it in high school, university, or any social situation, I was always the one to be alone while everyone else socialised

I don't want to be the "alone" one here either, but with it being my first day, I won't know anybody, and fear making bad first impressions, or them seeing my lack of social skills as rude (it's happened before unfortunately)

I'm a chef instructor.

There is nothing to worry about. Be there on time. As a new employee, you will be undergoing some training. Listen. Be attentive. Ask questions if you don't understand. Learn how to do your job so you will be a productive employee.

Don't worry about socializing. You're there to work.
