Well, partially. I mean, I diagnosed it and took out the faulty part.

I'm really looking forward to installing the new one!

See, the blower motor resistor went in our Ford. One of the tell-tale signs was the fact that it would only operate on high (full blast) for a year starting last fall. It finally gave out a few days ago. I tacked down the problem, researched how to replace it and extricated the faulty unit.

All told, I'm saving us roughly $140. Would have been $210 at the garage. The part is $60 at Autozone.

That's really cool! I've managed to do a couple of things like that when I had a car, and it's an amazing feeling to be able to fix something yourself.

Got the new part, installed it and had my wife in the passenger seat to witness the success or failure of my work.

It worked and as the air started to flow, she screamed. She was cuddled up against me and her face was next to mine so my ear is still ringing.

I made a loved one proud of me. It's all I ever really wanted!

LOL...that really is the secret to keeping chicks interested---the ability to fix cars!

Seriously: Congratulations, Sir!

Congratulations, that's more than I could with a car.
