Oh night, how long you are
You made me walk barefooted
A balance, how heavy you are
You tired my shoulders (I can't bear anymore)
My heart is tired for you
Oh mam, and the black hair which was left, turned grey
Oh mam, and the blonde hair which was left are gone
Oh mam, don't think if the estrangement extended that we would forgot you
Oh mam, how long the estrangement extended, we'll remember you more
Camel driver, oh camel driver
Camel driver, oh my cousin
Take this salam (salute) to my father and mother
Salam from my mind, talk from my mouth
Salam to my tender sister, who far away from me she is

youtube suggested me this yesterday. it's kinda creepy how it's been suggesting things based on threads i visit here or recent email conversations i've had, but once in a while big brother comes up with something nice

miguel bosé & ximena sariñana - aire soy

subtitled, karaoke style, if anyone else wants to practice spanish:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EWfgH_FElw

you can find translations out there if you google it, but it's the type of lyrics that gets lost in translation. i think the video itself already says enough

It is 'Hashishet qalbi', literally: 'the hashish of my heart' ; meaning: 'Who you are my heart's ecstasy' :P.

As I said, the song's meaning is totally lost in that bad translation.

My ideas of love songs seem to be death songs too. Seems about right for me. Maybe because I'm more familiar with fictional relationships than real ones. Maybe because the real ones make me super sad. Beautiful music though.

Sana git diyemem (i cannot tell you to leave)
Ama kal demek de gelmiyor içimden (but, i do not have the heart to ask you to stay)
Son sözünü söyledin beni bırakıp giderken (you said your last words when you left me)
Ah gün gelir pişman olup bir gün dönersen (ah, if one day you become regretful , come back )
Eskidendi deyip gideceğim (i'll say it was in the old times , (and) i'll leave)

Git, bırakıp uzaklara git (Go, leave me (and) go far away)
Ardında yaşlı gözlere mahkum edip (imprison me to watery eyes behind you)
Git, bırakıp beni bir başıma (Go, leave me all alone)
İstesem de dön desem de sen aldırma (You mustn't care if i want you back, if i ask you to come back)
Git, bırakıp uzaklara git (Go, leave me (and) go far away)
Ardında yaşlı gözlere mahkum edip (imprison me to watery eyes behind you)

Git yalan sevdalarına (Go, to the false loves of yours)
Çaresiz yarınlarına (to the desperate future of yours)
Bu yürek buna da dayanır (this heart of mine will endure these)
Alışırım gözyaşlarıma (i'll get used my tears)

Nat King Cole
