Interesting article to read on.

http://www.dana.org/Cerebrum/2002/The_W ... h_Asperger’s_Syndrome/

"Brain autopsy research has shown that both Asperger’s people and the highest functioning people with autism have a small amygdala; in cases of low-functioning people, by contrast, the amygdala is more normal and the hippocampus more abnormal."

So it seems that add and autism are neutro wire different in terms of hippocampus, frontal lobe and amygdala

http://www.ect.org/effects/lobe.html

Clinical Characteristics of the Three Principal Frontal Lobe Syndromes
Apathy (occasional brief angry or aggressive outbursts common)
Indifference
Psychomotor retardation
Motor perseveration and impersistence
Loss of self
Stimulus-bound behavior
Discrepant motor and verbal behavior
Motor programming deficits

** All seems to indicate ADHD, Asperger , autism symptoms.

So how do we increase the size of amygdala(emotions) & hippocampus(memory) ?

http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2 ... ter-brain/

"The analysis of MR images, which focused on areas where meditation-associated differences were seen in earlier studies, found increased gray-matter density in the hippocampus, known to be important for learning and memory, and in structures associated with self-awareness, compassion, and introspection."

Does that means meditation and practice mindfulness is the key to activate the amygdala and increase the gray matter density in our hippocampus?
