There was a thunderstorm last night, with lightning.

This area beneath the wall in my garden was virtually empty in March, no leaves or greenery at all. The main plant is alchemilla, with a few welsh poppies.

Time to swim in the river.Wouldnt exactly call the water warm.Family coming in around a week from now,we are taking huge floaties down there and spend the day on the water.

Everything in the fields seems to have been ramped up several notches with a concealed remote control, it's always a spectacular experience to roam through the meadows and beneath the canopies when spring has truly spawned seemingly right at the moment you plunge on through.

Three Turkey Vultures over the river today. Spring can't be far behind.

Rain.

Wildflowers are blooming alongside a few trails that I hike...

Cheerful yellow daffodils blooming and the sweet breath of spring shrub.There was even a honeybee out.
Time to plant greens and onions.

The scent of orange blossoms wafting on the breeze.

(Edit in: I was looking for an illustration of her digging a fresh pit to move the privy, but couldn't find anything. Did my first serious yard work on Wednesday this week. Robins all over the place already and bunnies playing in the yard!)

More rain.

Various spring birds tend to arrive in NYC around February first.
