While it may be snowing where I am as we speak, the talk of the Canadian Football League season heating up is another sign of spring coming (just for the record, the CFL season starts in June, goes through November).

Just saw a Red-tailed Hawk carrying off a stick to build a nest.

Plus: Nine Turkey Vultures passing by the window just now, all heading north.

the incredibly prickly, itchy feeling when wearing a sweater outdoors where it's just hardly appropriate, and coming inside to a warmer building.

the realization that a significant portion of the year has already passed by.

I went for a walk today and it actually smelled like Spring. It's a different smell to winter. There is a freshness in the air as things start to sprout again. It sounds like spring too. There are more birds singing.

looks like i'm getting about $300 back....

crickets have returned, grasshoppers, conducting their orthopteran songs. i've even started hearing a frog (doubt it's multiple) in the massive puddle near my school's biological science building at night.

eschewing sweaters and jackets. the temperature just now allows for single layers.
