I am diagnosed BPD, not ASD.

Ok this is more going to just be an info dump here instead of to the ex I used to dump info like this on because I find it super interesting and pertinent to myself.

Read this to get an idea of what I'm talking about.

This differs from my personal experience though. Personally, I know I don't encode or retrieve emotional memories properly. In fact, it has been pointed out to me repeatedly by my ex that I seemed to conveniently forget all the bad stuff that had happened between us, and that because of that I would keep acting in ways that would hurt him over and over, but I never truly saw how I was doing that. I still don't. It's like I have this giant blind spot and knowing it's there doesn't make it any easier to see into it. Sometimes I think I don't have a blind spot and I'm just being told I have a blind spot but I know my ex is not lying about his experience.
