Did your son seek you out? I'm glad you found your kid.

He was born right after I turned 17. He knew about me about the age of 13. I really never knew until they contacted me. He wanted to seek me out. His wife made first contact. It was actually funny.....

Once we were talking they bent over backwards to let me know they sought nothing. Then offered to take any DNA test I would want. I asked for pics just because I was curious.

Well, there was no need for a DNA test LOL It is a very interesting study of the age old question of nurture vs nature.

His mom and dad raise him well. I am happy to have him and my daughter-in-law and grandchildren in my life. As a matter of fact, this was the grandson that started me off in this direction to self discovery. He is diagnosed with Asperger's.

Life is weird like that....

Off topic, but I initially misread this and thought "being evaluated by Dr. Who would make me feel easier, too!"

Especially if it was David Tennant's Doctor. I would settle for Matt Smith or Christopher Eccleston, though.

I couldn't not pop in to say I thought the same thing! :P

Also, someday when I do get diagnosed, I'll have to try out a group even though I feel like I don't need people and I'm generally better off alone. I just feel so inadequate when it comes to a lot of things, and the way my brain works often gets dismissed as over thinking or ignored entirely. It'd be refreshing to be around like minded people even if we didn't quite share the same interests, though that would sure help :P
