Do your kids know about your diagnosis?

That's one thing I never did: have kids.

Thank you for noticing :) I'm in my fourth month. I was afraid someone would just think I was getting fat

I don't mean to be nosy but where did this come from? Kinda got confused how this fit in the thread. Is someone having a baby? I love babies!

I think he was making an obesity joke at his expense.
Yep...stream of conscious obesity poke at myself. My spawning days are long behind me.

Ah, oh well, just me being obtuse.

Two of them do. The third was taken away from me by a very vengeful mother. Let's put it this way, the forensic psychologist told me that if I kept trying to see my daughter Severe damage because of the conundrum her mother created. Although I only sought supervised visitation, she fought me to the point of parental alienation. The psychologist said that every time she would start to enjoy herself, she would freeze up very badly. And when she would do that, she would withdraw even more. So, I had to make the choice...see my daughter or let her grow up without the strife. I haven't seen her in almost ten years. I don't even know if she remembers me.

He was born right after I turned 17. He knew about me about the age of 13. I really never knew until they contacted me. He wanted to seek me out. His wife made first contact. It was actually funny.....

Once we were talking they bent over backwards to let me know they sought nothing. Then offered to take any DNA test I would want. I asked for pics just because I was curious.

Well, there was no need for a DNA test LOL It is a very interesting study of the age old question of nurture vs nature.

His mom and dad raise him well. I am happy to have him and my daughter-in-law and grandchildren in my life. As a matter of fact, this was the grandson that started me off in this direction to self discovery. He is diagnosed with Asperger's.

Life is weird like that....

Off topic, but I initially misread this and thought "being evaluated by Dr. Who would make me feel easier, too!"

Especially if it was David Tennant's Doctor. I would settle for Matt Smith or Christopher Eccleston, though.

I couldn't not pop in to say I thought the same thing! :P

Also, someday when I do get diagnosed, I'll have to try out a group even though I feel like I don't need people and I'm generally better off alone. I just feel so inadequate when it comes to a lot of things, and the way my brain works often gets dismissed as over thinking or ignored entirely. It'd be refreshing to be around like minded people even if we didn't quite share the same interests, though that would sure help :P
