No war can be won purely by relying on air force, so if American or European soldiers will enter ISIS-Land they will suffer heavy casualties, way more than what you think actually. ISIS isn't stupid, and underestimating them is a mistake! They fight dirty, it's not a 19th century gentlemen fight anymore, there are no ethics, no time to pick up the wounded. It's not going to be easy to stop them without a serious loss and maintain stable situation in a region used to instabillity.

A war can be won by a concentrated nuclear attack on the enemy. All we have to do is top worrying about collateral damage. If we discount collateral damage entirely we can destroy any enemy without planting a single boot on his land. Just lay him waste. That is how Rome destroyed Carthage. The was not a fourth Punic war because Rome laid waste the cities a cropland of Carthage. Of Rome it was said: They make a desolation and they call it Peace.

We could do it more thoroughly and with less risk than the Romans. All we have to do is make our enemies glow blue at night.

Also, the only way I can think of beating an ideology with nuclear weapons would be to turn earth into mars with enough nukes

It's tough being a terrorist in New York. Even the street people foil your plans.

But I hope you're not suggesting that this is something we should do, right?

Rome lasted a lot longer than the U.S. has been around.

All nations and empires have a life cycle. They are formed, they grow, they decline, they die.

Planned Christmas-Day terrorist attack foiled in Melbourne, Australia:

Police raids in Melbourne’s northern suburbs

WHAT WE KNOW

* Flinders Street, Federation Square, St Paul’s Cathedral potential targets

* Evidence of plans for an ‘explosive act’

* Alleged plotters ‘self-radicalised, inspired by ISIS propaganda’

* Five raids conducted across Melbourne

* Seven arrests, five remain in custody

A PLOT to attack landmark sites in Melbourne’s CBD on Christmas Day has been foiled following a series of raids in Melbourne this morning, police say.

Commissioner Graham Ashton says there is evidence to suggest there were plans for an “explosive act” which had the power to injure or kill a “substantial” number of people in an area around Federation Square, St Paul’s Cathedral and Flinders St Station.

Police believe there were also plans to use other weapons including knives and firearms, Mr Ashton said.

Revelations the would-be terrorists were radicalised by IS propaganda point to the alleged Christmas Day attack being an Islamic terror plot.

In case you missed it, there was an Islamic terrorist attack in Brussels yesterday.

Brussels bomb suspect was Moroccan and 'known to police'

A man suspected of setting off a bomb at Brussels Central Station on Tuesday has been identified as a 36-year-old Moroccan from a city district that has spawned a number of jihadist attackers.

The suspect came from Molenbeek and was carrying a bomb armed with nails and gas canisters, officials said.

He was shot and later died after the explosion, which is being treated as a terrorist attack.

Fortunately, the terrorist was an incompetent bomb maker.

And by the way, there was another Islamic terrorist attack this morning in Michigan.

Some say there are good and bad examples, ie, good and bad terrorists, will take food out of your mouth, success, status, and opportunities, to feed the good ones, apparently, so good, that they are more important than you.

There are pictures for those, who are still deciding, but you can't un-see them.
