One of my fellow church members works at WalMart and I see her there quite often. She encouraged me to apply for a job and to put her name down as a reference. I filled out all the information and I'm embarrassed to say that I FAILED THE ASSESSMENT which was mostly about customer service scenarios. If I can't even get a job at WalMart.....

It's okay, you don't want to work at Wal-Mart anyway.

Try Costco.

They pay more, and they treat you better.

I've seen the assessment test. They don't want to hire intelligent people at Walmart.

Nothing to be embarrassed about.

I would have worked overnight, hopefully stocking shelves.

I've applied at Costco twice.

I worked at CrapMart for 25months. It can be a real hellhole with the wrong managers & they are the 1s who usually get promoted. Like kraftiekortie said, CrapMart doesn't really want intelligent people working there. Their assessment test is tricky & I think it would be more so for lots of Aspies.

Does anyone remember the test scenarios? I wonder if they are purposefully screening out aspies? I have noticed aspies working in my local Walmart that then quickly disappear. This hasn't happened to anyone I know past a passing acquaintance so I can never confirm that they don't work there anymore or ask what happened.

I don't know if there are any Krogers near you, but mine has a workers union and is also very aspie friendly. But that could be from something in the local management. There's even a guy who has been there for like 15 years who openly wears earplugs and even sometimes full earmuffs.
