I imagine it depends on the person, but exercise helped reduce my depression to practically nothing. I feel way better. I also quit smoking, which probably helps too.

The unfortunate problem is it takes weeks of exercise until exercise feels good. But sugar feels good in just second. It's easier to skip a workout than a donut.

I do a bit where sugar in different forms calls my name.
Imagine a ventriloquist with no dummy using a "distant voice".

The first one always wants more.
One leads to....

1) Eat less.
2) Exercise more.
3) Repeat.

It's simple, and there's no need to make it complicated.

Low calorie high exercise can lead to starvation. Which can lead to tiredness and prevent weight loss

Better to have normal sized portions of healthy foods

Such as:
Oats for breakfast
Advocado on a piece of toast and piece of tuna on toast for lunch
Vegetables and meat for dinner
