Hi, everyone. I never thought I post this, but who is your musical crush?

Carole King. She's thoughtful and a real talent.

Mexican American singer-songwriter Lila Downs is the most awesomely fascinating person on the planet IMHO!

But before I discovered her I was infatuated with the late singer-songwriter Laura Nyro (contemporary with Carole King, Joni Mitchel, and Dylan). Kinda of a dark haired version of Lady Ga-Ga in looks.

I recently saw footage of a Seventies concert by Journey, and thought to myself "she's a cute girl, kinda of a Laura Nyro type, and she is a far better female vocalist than Nyro!". Then I realized that the "girl" I was looking at was Journey lead singer Steve Perry (his mustache was shaved, and he was wearing a kind of blouse that was tied in the front, and generally looked unisex, and he has a powerful, but rather high pitched gender neutral singing voice). So for a split second I had a gay crush I guess. Lol!

My God, yes--Laura Nyro! And Joni Mitchell. And Joy and Eve from Crass.

Courtney LaPlante, the singer from Iwrestledabearonce. I think she is cute as hell and her singing voice just oozes sexuality to me. Then, that ridiculous heavy vocal ability. I'm in love...

The iCarly star, Miranda Cosgrove. She's a singer as well as an actress. I have/had a huge crush obsession with her.

Kate Bush above all others brillient and ultra talented

Alannah Currie of the Thompson Twins and she was born on the exact same day as me. Had a big crush on her in the 80's

Kate Pierson of the B-52's is always giddy fun to listen to.

Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders ultra sexy passionate vocals. You can tell she is into it for the music not the cash.

Suzi Quatro

Kate B, Chrissie and Suzi are all worthy of admiration. Kate is different and original, Chrissie and Suzi are ballsy and can meet the male rockers on their own terms. And Chrissie genuinely is in it for the music. Also as a fellow animal lover and vegetarian, Chrissie can do no wrong by me.

Alannah believes everyone can sing to some extent.

I don't share your enthusiasm for the B52s but Kate P has 'balls' and decent rock credentials.

My female music crush is Agnetha from Abba. I even changed my name to that.

Reading Chrissie Hynde's autobiography she put out last year is on my to do list.

I need to add "quirky" Lene Lovich to my list

Off topic: Chrissie as well as two members of Devo another band I really like saw national guardsman kill 4 and wound 9 at Kent State University in 1970.

Was never a Lene fan but I respect her for being different and doing her own thing. She had a nice smile too.

This is what I admire about Lady GaGa. She doesn't give the proverbial monkey's and just does what she feels. Such women are a cut above your average bimbo 'pop princess' (the exception in the 'pop' world being the Abba ladies who had and continue to have class).

I have an on-again, off-again crush on Darren Hayes. I just got over my crush, as well as other musical crushes in my past and recently.

I really like Alison Moyet's voice. It's so deep and dreamy.

I don't like women singers with squeaky voices.
