Hello!
Does anyone use meet-up to find stuff to do and groups to join?

I've joined several groups and quit a couple that sounded strange or demanding once I got in.
I've gone to very few meet-ups so far but they were nice. I'm in the midst of a slow move to another city right now and hope meet ups will be a good way to not be so lonely once I'm settled.

Does anyone still live here? Feels like I went away to Uni and came home to find out the family has moved with no forwarding address. :(

Yes indeed. We moved to Mars. It's nice to be back home. :alien:

Still here (Mars, that is). Puttering around with things: Geiger-Muller tubes, medical imaging, dog walking, food eating, Python programming, singing, and many more things that I can't bring to mind at present.

Well that's good! Have you "seen" any of the old crowd in here lately? Postie? Laurie?

Things are going well on this end. I've been able to retire a bit early, so I sleep late every day. :D

Hey, Grommit! Nice to see you again. How have you been?

And yea, listen to the radio late every night, get up late and have a cup of tea. Decide what I'm going to do when the feeling strikes. It's not a bad life, these days!

Not so social, hence the long silence. And my brain is in a time zone quite different from the one it should occupy. I am trying to train it to use a GPS, but it absolutely insists on the astrolabe, and you just can't get longitude from that. We've had quite heated arguments about this.

Although, if someone could find out where the blowtorch and the recipe for seaweed and raspberry muffins were hidden, I would reconsider. I would not add garlic this time. I've learned my lesson.

Stammtisch refers both to the regular meeting with the same group of friends in the pub, and to the actual table reserved for that meeting.
