Hello, WP.

I've been a member for a couple months but I haven't posted anything yet, so here we go.

I'm curious about others' efficient methods of counting, whether it's adding, subtracting, multiplying, etc. (Also feel free to post anything else related to numbers. Are there any numbers that you have a poor relationship with? I dislike the number 7. I just have never had a good "feel" of it.)

For example, when adding 18 and 25 my thought process is:

Ones' place: 8 plus 5 will increase the tens' place by 1.
Tens' place: 1 plus 2 plus 1 (from the ones' place) equals 4 -> the tens' place is a 4.
Ones' place: The difference between 8 and 5 is 3 -> the ones' place is a 3.
The answer is 43.

Hi, welcome!

For me, I add the ones place first to get 13, then keep the three and carry the one, and add the 1, 1 and 2 to get 4. So, 43.
