I ask this because I was in a public restroom and the hand dryer was being used by someone and I could not finish useing the restroom because of that so my question is does that annoy you

I can stand it until I finish my business but I never use them. It's just too painful.

They sound loud because public toilets are full of hard surfaces, there is nothing in them to absorb or deaden sounds. The hand dryers don't bother me in the slighest, at least they drown out the noise of people, which I find far more annoying.

Yes and I also find them very unnecessary. I just use toilet paper to dry my hands instead.

I think they are loud, but I don't have sensory issues with them so to speak, because I can tolerate them. I prefer them over paper towel because I don't like how it feels (though some types are okay).

The newer high velocity ones I dislike a lot and I only use them if there is no other option. The fans they have and the sounds of the air rushing out of them and interacting with your hands is unpleasant to my ears and borderline intolerable.

Now the older ones that didn't output air at supersonic velocities didn't bother me. In fact I'd often use two of them at the same with my left hand under one and my right under the other.

I find the sound of hand dryers, leaf blowers and vacuum cleaners very irritating. Like slow torture in some cases.

Yes, I find them startlingly loud, but I can tolerate them.

I find them really loud and one of the main reasons I avoid public restrooms.

well they aren't quiet....

However can't say they bother me that much....bothers me much more when I am using a public restroom and people come in and think they have to slam their stall door shut and do everything with as much force as and noise as possible.

With the amount of toilet paper I hear some of those people grab I am convinced they are the culprit for when theres tons of toilet paper unraveled from the roll on the floor of the stall...or worse when the toilet is clogged with tons of toilet paper and they went poop rather than pee.

Maybe people feel uncomfortable in public restrooms so they just rush too much to get out...but either way these things are unpleasant.

They cause sensory problems for me, and I can't use them at all. If I'm in a bathroom that has only hand dryers, I just leave with my hands still wet. They make me anxious when a lot of other people are around because I'm never sure when someone is going to turn them on, so I do my best to get in and out in a hurry.

Some of them are ridiculously loud, but some toilets (which sound powerful enough to dispose of a Smart car) are even worse! Others range from manageable to just fine. It's the loo lottery.
